We’ll visit Orava castle, we’ll see Museum Orava’s Village – open air museum of folk architecture, we’ll sail on flatboats on the river Orava, and enjoy a feast in old wooden mill in the forest.

A visit of Orava Castle, one of the most famous and beautiful medieval castles in Central Europe and certainly one of the largest tourist attractions of the north-west Slovakia. Summer is the best time to enjoy rich program in the castle and its extramural settlement, falconry and knightly fighting exhibitions included.

The castle looks like an eagle’s nest on the rock over Orava river. We will have a chance to sail on the flatboat on the river. So-called flatboating is one of the oldest traditional crafts in Slovakia. While having a ride we can enjoy the view of Orava Castle surrounded by beautiful nature.

In order to have a real experience, we will visit an exceptional open-air museum – a reservation of folk architecture hidden on the edge of the forest above the small village called Zuberec, where we will see (accompanied by music*) how our ancestors had been living. We will relax in the inn, but not in the ordinary one. The inn is located in an old wooden mill right in this small picturesque historical village.
