We’ll visit historical center of Banská Bystrica and Museum of Slovak National Uprising, we’ll explore mining village Špania Dolina, where among other things we’ll see historical 19th century elementary school and we’ll also visit wooden articular church in Hronsek and Zvolen Castle.

The purpose of this excursion is to visit the largest city in central Slovakia – Banská Bystrica.

The magical royal town of Banská Bystrica has taken breath to several European artists, who were inspired by its charming atmosphere. So-called city hidden in the embrace of the mountains. The medieval historic center with remnants of the old castle, the magnificent citizen houses, the leaning tower, the cathedral and the singing fountain create a view that will win you over.

From the historical point of view, Banská Bystrica was important because it became the center of the Slovak National Uprising during the Second World War, the armed uprising of the domestic resistance against fascism. We will visit the Uprising Museum and nearby park with military machinery exposition inside.

The matter of the heart of CK BELKY is a unique little village in the mountains above Banská Bystrica. In Špania valley, we will walk back and forth between the ancient houses, look at the preserved trench and we will have the opportunity to visit and sit down behind the small tables in the original 19^th century elementary school.

During this excursion, the wooden articular church Hronsek is waiting for you. Wooden sacral architecture is a jewel of Slovak folk art. The peculiarity is that the buildings are built entirely of wood and no stud could be used in their construction.

One of the oldest cities, Zvolen, where we will go to visit the national cultural monument is located next to Banská Bystrica. Zvolen Castle is admirably set on a hill over the square right in the city center.
