Arrival and evening tour of Bratislava

Bratislava Castle, Čachtice Castle and Trenčiansky Castle
This trip begins with a sightseeing tour of the capital of Slovakia. The unskippable dominance of the city is a castle with its typical four-tower character. From the 16th to the 18th century, this was the treasury of crown jewels for the Habsburg monarchy.
Slovak castles have been made renown around the world by the horrific legends of Alžbeta Báthoryová, the bloodthirsty countess that ruled over these lands. You surely wouldn’t like to miss the ruin of her castle.
Then we will move to the town of Trenčín, where we enter the medieval castle, which is a symbol of endless love. On the square beneath the castle, we will have a pleasant evening accompanied by tasting of typical Trenčín´s culinary specialties.
Orava Castle, High Tatras and Tatranská Lomnica
We will visit Oravský castle, which is one of the most beautiful castles in Slovakia and is a prominent landmark of the Orava region. The castle was used as a film set for large number of films and fairy tales, the world’s first Dracula movie among them. We will enjoy sailing on the wooden flat boards. In the courtyard of the castle, we will witness dueling knights, falconry demonstrations and have lunch in the castle restaurant.
You may also look forward to rafting and a walk in Vysoké Tatry, the smallest mountains in the world, where you may enjoy watching majesty Slovak mountains at glacial lake. In the evening you will replenish your energy staying in a traditional mountain village of Tatranská Lomnica.
Dobšinská Ice Cave, Levoča and Spiš
After a good night’s sleep, we set out into an ice kingdom created by millennia of nature activity. The Dobšinská Ice Cave is the lowest ice cave in the world, with charms to capture your soul.
The next stop is the town of Levoča. It is one of the most beautiful historical towns in Central Europe, with its walls and architecture still preserving the character of the medieval city. We will enjoy lunch at its historical center, surrounded by a well-preserved tower system with several bastions and gates.
The Spišský Castle is the jewel of the Spiš region, the largest castle in Central Europe, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will be delighted by the scenic panorama of Vysoké Tatry Mountains as you reach the castle towers.
Bardejov and Košice
We begin the day with an excursion of the historic town of Bardejov, located in the north-east part of Slovakia. The center of Bardejov is a rectangular square, surrounded by a number of preserved contemporary burgher’s houses and medieval fortification in the town center. It is widely believed that Bardejov is a Gothic jewel of Slovakia. Our journey around the East Slovakia features the castles where the sovereigns lived, beautiful ancient towns and visits to traditional village of original folk architecture.
This part of our journey will end in the city of Košice, the eastern metropolis of Slovakia, the largest historical preservation site in Slovakia, guarding the greatest and the most significant gold treasure in Europe, discovered in 1935 when the main street was dug out. We will finish the guided city tour by ascending to the tower of the easternmost Gothic cathedral in Europe, Cathedral of St. Elizabeth.
Betliar and Vígľašský Castle
Today we will visit the first manor house of our tour, the national cultural monument of Betliar manor. It is worth mentioning that this is the only romantic castle in Slovakia with preserved original furnishings and art collections and the manor´s beautiful English garden is also worth visiting.
Then we travel to the village of Vígľaš. There, we will experience true royal atmosphere as we spend the night right at the Vígľašský Castle. The castle complex dating to the Middle Ages was completely renovated in 2007. We will spend our last evening together by party in medieval theme, where you can taste typical historical dishes accompanied by historical music.
Bojnice Castle
We saved the most famous and picturesque castle in Slovakia for the end of your tour. A true jewel amongst the castles, Bojnice Castle is renowned for its romantic appearance and it has been featured several times by National Geographic, ranked as one of the most beautiful castles of the world. In its vicinity, the largest ZOO in Slovakia entertaining both young and old is waiting for you.
